Get To Know Toronto (YYZ)

Toronto is a colourful and vibrant city. The downtown skyscrapers in Toronto, mark Canada’s financial hub.

You could visit one of the countless theatres, take in the views from the sky-high CN Tower, or take a ferry across to the Toronto Islands for a picnic in the park. Whichever you choose there is one thing you must do – take the short journey to magnificent Niagara Falls. Marvel at the thundering white water as you take a cruise on the Voyage To The Falls or take a tour behind the curtain of water.

Our 5 must do's here are:

  1. Hornblower’s Voyage To The Falls - If you’re visiting Niagara Falls (and we strongly suggest you do), make sure you take a trip on the famous Hornblower’s Voyage To The Falls (seasonal).
  2. Taking a self-drive along Cape Breton will leave you in no doubt as to the majesty of Eastern Canada.

  3. Head to Parc Aventures Cap Jaseux near Québec City and enjoy watersports, tree-top walks and more.

  4. Eastern Canada has a rich Scottish heritage, especially in Nova Scotia. Visit Pictou – “the birthplace of New Scotland” – and talk to the people that call this wonderful area home.

  5. Canoeing in Algonquin Provincial Park is a great way to appreciate the beauty and stillness of your surroundings and the chance to see moose, beaver and bear.

Some of the hotels worth mentioning here are:

  • SHERATON ON THE FALLS

WHEN TO TRAVEL

Best Time To Visit Toronto

May to August is a good time to travel as May is the month of Spring and is around 17C, whereas in July - August the temperature is around 25C.
Autumn, fall in North America, is particularly attractive with warm days (September 20C, October 16C), cool evenings and brightly-coloured foliage.
At the first sign of sunshine, Torontonians head for their favorite patios where they can drink a beer, watch the world go by and store up the warmth.
Winters can be extremely cold.
